Eating Right And Feeling Great

The choice to make low carb meals a part of your daily diet is a smart and healthy one. We are dieters. We are never happy with our weight, and we are always looking for that one diet that is going to change our lives. Of course the truth is that there is no one diet that holds the magic bullet to keeping the weight off. But we continue to fall for the latest fad. We are addicted to diets, and that addiction will continue as long as we remain obsessed with high fat, high carb fast food and junk food. The ads bombard us every day on the TV and just about everywhere we look. It's time we take a look at ourselves and realize that this cycle of over indulgence, followed by the latest fad diet, will get us absolutely no where. It will only keep us caught in the vicious cycle of weight loss and weight gain.

For many the junk food is the only way they know. The only way they will lose weight will be to force themselves to have a bariatric bypass surgery and be on a strict gastric bypass plan for the rest of their lives. These procedures are costly and dangerous, so why not take measures right now to get fit, lose weight, and live a long healthy life where you are not afraid to leave the house in shorts, or take your shirt off at the beach.

Instead of going on the next fad diet craze like eating cookies or drinking milkshakes, make the choice to eat sensibly for the rest of your life, and get yourself a healthy dose of exercise at least 3 times a week. These are the changes that can make life lasting health and wellness a staple for everyone. The health benefits are enough reason to eat right and exercise daily. You will greatly reduce your risk for common killers like heart disease and diabetes. You will also get the added bonus of looking fantastic and feeling great about yourself. It really is never too late to make these changes in your life. Scientific research has shown that a switch to a healthy eating lifestyle can reverse the aging process at anytime.

One of our biggest problems with our eating habits is that we go carbohydrate crazy. Breads and pastas are usually the main culprits. Reducing the amount of carbs we intake and eating low carb meals are a major part in the battle to lose weight.

Low Carb Meal Ideas

Sometimes it's just difficult to stay away from carbs. They are everywhere, but we can at least keep them out of our own fridges. This starts at the supermarket. Be mindful of the amount of carbs you need to reduce in your diet, and plan this all out while food shopping. You can also remember to have low carb meals at restaurants. You can start by asking the waiter to skip bringing bread for the table. But make sure your company is OK with that.

Once you dedicate yourself to low carb meals you will lose weight and feel great. Here are some low carb meal ideas to get you on your way.

For breakfast, you can only have one piece of toast instead of two. Stay away from high carb breakfast staples like pancakes and french toast. Substitute with fresh eggs and an assortment of nutritious fruit.

For lunch you can go with a delicious salad. Most vegetables that you would put in a salad are low carb. Add some strips of grilled chicken for flavor and protein. You should also go light on the dressing.

For dinner, a steak and a side of asparagus will keep the carbs away and satisfy the taste buds. A side salad with your dinner is also a great idea. Since you ate this well, go ahead and treat yourself to a sensible dessert. You deserve it and you can always walk it off with an evening stroll.

Thanks for this hub. I took your advice and ended up blowing a hole in my colon the size of New Jersey.
